| Just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful week here in the Harlech cottage.
We have had a wonderful week. The cottage is lovely. Thank you so much for all the extra bits
in the cottage that make a difference, the logs and all the bits in the kitchen. This is probably the best equipped cottage we've stayed in. Thank you. Very much appreciated Hope to be back. |

| Had a fabulous couple of days over the New Year. The cottage was perfect for us and our two dogs, with log open fire just what we needed after some long walks. Beautiful area, a walk downhill to the beach and the mountains not far away. If you're coming at New Year be prepared for the fact that places in the village may be closed and eating out difficult. Also, although the Lion pub is only a 15 second walk down the hill, they don't serve food. But it's a lovely pub. |

| Our stay at the cottage was amazing, we would definitely recommend to other families. Its a very spacious, cosy cottage, with everything you need in the kitchen to cook a meal and we had a generous welcome package waiting for us, thank you. Outside is a beautiful view of Harlech castle and the sea, there's also sea views from the bedrooms. We experienced a sunset view of the castle, it was magical. Do be careful of the steep road to the cottage, my car didn't cope well with it so we parked at the long stay car park and used the permit provided. You can walk to the beach but it took us around 25 mins, and theres a steep road to walk down and back up again on return. However, its well worth it as Harlech beach is quiet and sandy, with lovely views and it allows dogs. There's a nice chippy, indian takeaway and grocery store right on your doorstep, great location. |

| Just spend a beautiful week in this lovely Harlech cottage. It was tidy, clean and well stocked,
having condiments in the kitchen was a bonus. There is a lot of space to store stuff, and the welcome pack
was such a thoughtful gesture. The beds were comfortable and bathroom modern with a good shower. Sunsets
over the castle from the garden were spectacular! We frequented the Lion Inn down the road, and Y Groser deli and cafe was our favourite place to shop - the bread was so good. I also recommend Bean and Blwm, near the castle, for tasty lunch and awesomely good pizzas in the evening. Harlech is a beautiful and friendly place from which to explore all that North Wales has to offer. We loved walking down and along the beach with its mountain backdrop with our dog. I cannot wait to revisit and would stay in this property again. |

| Ideal place to spend a few days to explore the local area. Very central just off the heigh street of Harlech. As the information says it is on a very steep hill but only a short walk from the main shops with a pub a few doors down. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and was clean and tidy. The info does say parking can be outside on a first come basis but we didn't find this as residents put out cones to stop people parking. A parking permit was provided that allowed parking at a nearby long stay car park and parking in other local parking areas. Overall we had an enjoyable stay. I would say of Harlech itself that it's very much set up for day time and long weekend visitors. The pub is closed Monday and Tuesday and most food places apart from the Indian restaurant are closed from 5. The dogs loved the beach. |

| What a wonderful stay we have just had at Fron-Hyfryd. The house had everything we needed. It was
comfortable and well equipped. I love that there were condiments supplied, such a game changer. I agree with a previous review , that the garden needed a mow but the views from there to the castle and sunset beyond were spectacular. The house is on a really steep hill so beware! We managed to get parking on the road outside each day but there are alternatives nearby. The house is in a perfect spot, 1 minute walk to The Lion Inn (great craft beer) and Y Grocer Harlech which is a wonderful deli and grocer. The fresh bread is delicious. Harlech Castle is 2 minutes walk away. Well worth a visit. Also nearby are the Castle Cottage Inn where we had a wonderful dinner. The owner's and Dioni's communication was excellent. Wonderful property and holiday. |

| We have just spent a fabulous 3 days in beautiful Harlech. The cottage is in an ideal location to enjoy all that Harlech and the surrounding area has to offer. Situated a few meters from a fabulous Indian restaurant and lovely bar, we couldn't have been happier. The cottage was comfortable and clean. Really comfortable bed and a modern bathroom and kitchen. My only complaint would be that the grass in the garden was very overgrown, and it made it difficult to sit out and enjoy the fabulous view. We would highly recommend a stay at the cottage and hope to return one day. |

| Lovely, homely, comfortable, spotlessly clean cottage close to amenities. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. |
| Host Comments |
| Guests' comments are very valuable and our aim is to keep up the good standards and make improvements where necessary. |
This cottage is right in the heart of Harlech, close to shops, places to eat and Harlech Castle. The views over the castle and out to sea, across to the Llyn Penisula are stunning.
Those who have limited mobility might find the steep hill rather challenging so consider that. If you want a full description of the hill do please call us. Also, parking the car on the hill is not for the feint-hearted, but there are other places to park, and there is a parking permit.
In addition to the two bedrooms there is a small room with folding desk and chair that is ideal as an office or study for those who need to keep in touch with the working world. Alternatively the room could be used for a child's cot, and the desk could be used for baby changing.

A steep hill winds up the mountain from the centre of the idyllic town of Harlech, and a hundred yards up the hill is a stone terrace cottage called "Fron Hyfryd". A more ideal location for a vacation would be hard to find. Overlooking the castle and the sea, this traditional cottage is off the high street yet very close to all the amenities of the town, including the grocer "Y Groser Harlech". They have an abundance of locally-sourced foods and a tasty fresh delicatessen, Welsh cheeses and wines, served by friendly and courteous staff.
A little way along the high street, past the gallery, is a hotel and restaurant with stunning views over the dunes, the sea, and the famous Harlech Castle. Along the high street are an assortment of charming shops and places to eat. The gallery, "Galeri Harlech", has regular art exhibitions and a free invitation to play the musical instruments.
The ambience of Harlech is enviable! Such a well appointed town the size of a village an crammed with picturesque buildings and streets. Some of the streets are very steep, one claiming to be the steepest in the world! At the hardware shop, "Seasons and Reasons", you can buy a T-shirt to show you've walked this hill. It is one of those shops where you can buy almost anything you need for every job, as well as newspapers and beach kit.
You can walk from the town centre to the beach (down a steep hill of course) and the views are amazing. At the bottom of the hill is Harlech railway station where you can travel to Porthmadog, Criccieth and Pwllheli on the Lleyn Peninsula, or you can go south to Barmouth. There are lovely sandy beaches all the way along the coast, and you can follow the coast path for miles. If you want to walk in the mountains, there are many narrow roads taking you to the start of some tracks and paths up into the Rhinog mountains. Very quickly, as you gain height, the views out to sea are stunning. You really need a map to safely navigate the mountains, but you can see a lot from the car and explore lakes and waterfalls.
Fron Hyfryd itself is a spacious two to three bedroom property with a double bed in one room and twin beds in the second. The third room is suitable as an office or a bedroom for a child's cot. There is an upstairs WC and shower room. Downstairs, there is a comfortable lounge with real log burner and a good sized dining table and chairs. Outside in the back garden, you can sit at the table and chairs and enjoy views of the castle and the sea. At the front too, there is a small space to sit outside and see similar views.
Fron Hyfryd is pet friendly and one or two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Parking is available outside on the hill, Pen Dref, but it is very steep and people usually put a stone under the wheels. If you find that challenging, there is a parking permit provided for the Council car parks just a short walk away.
