Full of independent shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants, you won't be short of a place to browse or eat during your stay and a visit to the famous fish and chips shop,The Mermaid, to try their award-winning food is a must here in Barmouth. Enjoy walks up the sloping streets to the atmospheric Old Town, also known as The Rock, where you'll be amazed by the panoramic views, and then Dinas Oleu hill where the views are also incredible, down to the harbour to see the boats or along the footbridge that crosses the Mawddach Estuary which is a truly beautiful spot. You can also catch the train or a small, old-fashioned ferry across the estuary to Fairbourne. The vast beach has enough space for those wanting to quietly relax and admire the views over Cardigan Bay, or for children to build sandcastles, and with clear, turquoise water it's a perfect place for a swim, or you can take a paddleboard out on the sea.
